In 1984 I was driving to a local radio station to record my monthly commercial promoting eyeglasses and contact lenses. I had been in such a frenzy all day, worried about business, worried about Christmas, wondering what I was going to buy all the people in my life who already had too much anyway and wondering how I was going to make it through the holidays. In short - Christmas was not supposed to be this way.

At the last moment, I decided to mention the real meaning of Christmas in the last part of my commercial. At least, I thought, I would do SOMETHING to remind people of the real love and hope and joy Christmas brings.

So many responded positively to my "Christmas commercial" I decided to lengthen the message the next Christmas, telling of my childhood in the small southern town of Hampton, Arkansas, a town representative of small communities all across the nation. I talked about my brother, my dog, my parents and family and friends, and the shared memories of small town Christmases

Because of the overwhelming number of requests for copies of the Christmas messages, I decided to make them available on a CD.

I hope you enjoy Twelve Christmases, and that it brings back many warm memories of holidays past as well as give you hope for the years to come.
